I keep my eyes closed. Do not rush me,
You, fire, power, might, for it is too early.
I have lived through many years and, as in this half-dream,
I felt I was attaining the moving frontier
Beyond which color and sound come true
And the things of this earth are united.
Do not yet force me to open my lips.
Let me trust and believe I will attain.

I like the idea in that beautiful last sentence very much.
That’s true, after all we can only understand others by what we know about ourselves. My guesses are geared towards the creative story side but aren’t realistic at all. It’s likely he got some bad news or got into a fight with someone he loves and is feeling awkward for it. Or it could be that’s the face we all have when we think deeply on something but can’t recognize it because we can’t see ourselves in that moment.
That’s a good question, and I really don’t know. Something about his walk and expression intrigued me, and I took the picture. Afterwards, it seemed like something was there. But that could be just what I have imported into the moment, not at all what was really happening. For me a picture like this works, and I am not saying this one definitely does, when there is enough to suggest a story or a moment. Your ideas on it are as good–probably better–than mine.
Why do you think that is? What story do you think the man has? I’m coming up with a couple ideas of my own but I want to hear what your thoughts are since you were actually there.
Yes, he was walking as if marching, yet pushing a shopping trolly. Dignity and defeat.
Very interesting photo, this man looks extremely uncomfortable and I can’t help but wonder why.
